Patti’s interest in art began when she moved to Vancouver Island to pursue her counselling career. She studied art at North Island College and mentored with several established local artists. Her exploration of materials in clay, stone, metal, concrete, paint, and canvas has resulted in the creation of sculpture and paintings which emphasize form and colour. DiDiomete works intuitively and expressively. Her art is a continuous process of self-exploration.

DiDiomete’s new work is more reflective and sensitive. There is a softening of forms with colours that are muted and restrained. The work is being reduced to simple forms that explore the more sensuous and mysterious complexities of nature, through a meditated “mark-making” process. The resulting work is delicate and raw and it exudes a quiet elegance.
